Financial Aid at UCLA is changing for the better!

The Financial Aid Cloud Environment Technology (FACET) Program will transform the technology used to process financial aid at UCLA.

FACET will implement the Student Financial Planning (SFP) financial aid software system. SFP is not just an upgrade; it is an innovative new system that will move UCLA from a legacy mainframe to a contemporary cloud-based solution. SFP will create efficiency, enhance stability, speed processing, assist with regulatory compliance, and ultimately allow UCLA to meet the ever-evolving needs of its students and financial aid staff.

In preparation for the implementation of SFP, the FACET Program will also update the current Financial Aid Management (FAM) mainframe system to accept and manage data from the new, simplified Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form for the 2024–25 Academic Year.

FACET is an initiative of the Digital Campus Roadmap.
